Ferne Johnston – formerly of Atwood, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday December 24, 2020 at the age of 100. Ferne was a member of the former Donegal United Church. She enjoyed square dancing, step dancing, camping and spending time with her family.
Beloved wife of the late Harold Johnston who predeceased her in 2002. Loving mother of Elenor (Jim) Edwards, Murray Johnston, Ken (Peggy) Johnston, Ray (Connie) Johnston, Joan Johnston. Cherished grandmother of Paul, Laurie, Cindy, Dwayne, Joanne, Dale, Darryl, Amanda, Dannielle, Teri, Ryan, Shawn, Gene, Chad, Tim, 29 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Marie (Ed) Ament and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Jimmy and Gladys (Holmes) Buchanan, daughter Marion (Bob) Long, brothers Elgin (Dorothy) Buchanan, Delmar (Marie) Buchanan and brother-in-law Lorne (Ruth) Johnston.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Brenneman Funeral Home, Atwood. Interment in Donegal Cemetery.
