Stephane “Steph” Desbiens, age 47 of Lasalle Ontario, passed away Friday December 18th, 2020 after a short, unexpected, illness. Steph leaves behind his wife of 20 years, Valerie (nee Brkovich) Desbiens and children Alexander (age 12) and Emma (age 10). Steph is joining his son Maxwell Desbiens and father Guy Desbiens in Heaven. Steph was born in Jonquiere, Quebec. He is survived by his mother Danielle Girard, and his siblings Karine Fantetti, Jeff Desbiens, Denis Desbiens and niece Marissa Fantetti. Steph will be greatly missed by in-laws, Allen and Pauline Brkovich, his sister-in-law, Dr. Andrea Brkovich, brother-in-law Christopher Osborne and niece and nephew Meaghan and Rory Osborne. Steph was the Vice President and Sales Manager of Toolplas Systems in Oldcastle, Ontario. The relationships he made through this industry are vast and include the founder / mentor Nick Mamatas and his good friend John Sabelli. Steph’s involvement in the Lasalle minor hockey community brought him much joy and also cultivated many amazing friendships. “Big Shoof” had a big heart and he will be greatly missed.
Due to the COVID pandemic, a private family ceremony will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the children’s education fund. Cheques can be made out in trust to Valerie Desbiens through Families First Funeral Home.
