MacWha – 77, Bible
Hill, passed away peacefully and suddenly, following complications
from surgery, on Friday, December 18, 2020, at VG Site, QEII, Halifax.
Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Myra
(Richards) Tedford.
Marilyn worked for 26 years with The Colchester East-Hants
Regional Library as a Bookmobile Library Assistant. She was a Girl
Guide leader and volunteered with Cobequid Spartans Gymnastics Club,
Third Place Transition House and Truro Jr. “A” Hockey Club.
Marilyn enjoyed summers at the family cottage in Brule, was a member
of Project Feederwatch and local Christmas bird count and enjoyed
feeding birds and animals around her log home in the woods. Marilyn
was an affiliate member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro.
She owned her own motorcycle and was a member of Waverley Riders
Motorcycle Club for over 13 years and enjoyed rallies in Nova Scotia,
New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
Marilyn is survived by her twin daughters, Janet (Robin)
Taylor, Fort McMurray, Alberta and Judi (Dwayne) Warwick, Murray
Siding; daughters, Lori MacWha, Hilden; Heidi Rix (Steve MacLeod),
Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren, Josh Taylor (and K-9 sidekick, Lu)
Hubbards; Jonathan Tattrie (Jordyn Tannahill), Springhill; companion
of over 20 years, Allister Mombourquette (and K-9 sidekick, Buddy),
Brookside; sister-in-law, Irene Tedford, Bible Hill. Along with her
parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert “Bob”
Tedford.
Special thanks are extended to Dr. Sam Minor and the
exceptional staff of 3A, Intensive Care Unit, VG Site, QEII, for your
excellent care and compassion.
Private interment will be held in Terrace Hill Cemetery at a
later date. If so desired, donations in Marilyn’s memory to
Third Place Transition House, Colchester SPCA or charity of choice are
welcomed.
