ROBERT THOMAS SMITH
JULY 12, 1947 – DECEMBER 18, 2020
Peacefully, at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 18th, 2020, Robert Thomas Smith of Straffordville passed away at the age of 73 years. Friend of 45 years to Linda Smith (nee Cowan. Father to Leslie Smith, Leigh-Anne Smith (Abel Asefaw) and Christine Smith (Doug Fielding). Beloved “Bobby” to Chelsey (Herman) and Christopher. Beloved “Bup” to Colton, Dominic and Oliver. Also survived by his sister, Barb Cieslowski (Stan). Robert will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by this parents Albert and Agnes (nee Jenkins) Smith. Robert was passionate about coaching the minor baseball team when his daughters were younger. He was a devoted father to not only his own daughters but also to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was also so excited about each new addition to the family and loved each one unconditionally. He was an enthusiastic fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He was also an avid Coca-Cola antique collector. At Robert’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Humane Society or the Canadian Mental Health Association may be made by contacting Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg (519-842-5221) who have been entrusted by the Smith Family.
