John Mandrusiak
It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of John Mandrusiak of Sherwood Park, Alberta.
John passed away peacefully on Monday morning December 14, 2020 at the age of 88 years.
John was born in the village of Morecambe just east of Two Hills. He enjoyed playing ball and hockey with the local Two Hills sports teams. Dad loved music, and he learned to play saxophone as a young boy. At the age of 13 he began playing in orchestras with his uncles at country weddings and dances. When he moved to Edmonton he, his brother and some friends from back home started up their own dance band (The Crusaders). John articled to become a chartered accountant and was so proud and grateful to have spent his entire career working for the Ledcor Group of Companies.
John is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Susan; son and daughter-in-law Dale and Bernadette; four grandchildren, Christina (Kristopher) Csernyanski, Natasha, Joseph, and Jacob; great grandsons Luke and Joshua;sister Mary Zolner and brother Orest.
John was predeceased by his son Robert, parents Dmytro and Anna, brothers Bob and Walter and sister Rose Herard.
The family is grateful to all of John’s doctors, nurses and caregivers for their kind, compassionate care.
A private family funeral service with Divine Liturgy will be held on Saturday December 19th at 10:00 am.
