Jean de Smit Saturday December 5th 2020

On December 5th, 2020, after 98 years on this planet, Loving Wife and Beloved Mother Jean Lillian deSmit has moved on to other mysteries.
She passed away at the place of her choosing, the medical wing at Bomanville General Hospital, with her son (Scott) Reinier deSmit at her side. There, she was cared and comforted by their incredible nursing staff and her family physician of over 20 years, Dr. Harvey Williams. With their help, Jean was very much at peace and ready to depart from her very well lived mortal life.
Her loving and beloved husband, Reinier deSmit Sr. passed a few years prior to her leaving us.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark deSmit and Reinier deSmit Jr..
She was the last of 7 siblings, of the Horton clan. The recent passing of her brother and dear friend, Murray Horton, perhaps reminded Jean that it was time to move on from 2020.
There will be no memorial. Those of you who remember her, remember her well. She died knowing she was loved, and knowing that the love she gave touched so many people.
