Obituary of Betty Cook
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betty Mary Cook, at age 88, at H.J. McFarland Home in Picton, Ontario, on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Betty was the beloved wife of Carl Cook for 68 years (September 2019). Loving mom to 3 daughters, Debbie Cook of Ottawa, Dianne Macdonald (Scott) of Picton and Peggy Francis (Peter) of London. She adored her three grand-daughters, Sarah, Katie and Lauren, and was an awesome great-grandmother to Lily, Avery, Marah and Oliver. Betty is survived by her brother Bill Lang (Mary) and her sister Pat Kellar of Owen Sound.
Predeceased by her parents William and Florence Lang of Owen Sound, sisters Dorothy Mills (Cliff), Sharon Morris and Peggy Tennant, sisters-in-law Wilda Lang, Daisy Gibbons (Norm), and brothers-in-law Jim Kellar, Roy Cook (Dorothy) and Ernie Cook (Doris).
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Lori Scherzer for her incredible kindness towards mom during the past few years. We would also like to thank the staff at H.J. McFarland Home for the excellent care our mother received during the past several months and especially during the last few days making her as comfortable as possible during this difficult time.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a private family gathering at Greenwood Cemetery in Owen Sound, at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. Messages of condolences may be sent to the family online at www.woodfuneralhome.ca
“My mind still talks to you and my heart still looks for you.
But my soul knows you’re at peace.”
Rest In Peace Mom
