Obituary of Merle Wallace Zimmerman
Zimmerman, Merle Wallace – 86, of Weymouth, passed away December 9, 2020, in Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born January 8, 1934, he was the son of the late Gottlieb and Maria (Lang) Zimmerman. Merle spent 45 years dedicated to his ministry, serving 1955-2000 in places such as Weymouth, PEI a few times, and Fredericton, NB. He loved people greatly, and he was known and loved by people all over the Maritimes. In his spare time, Merle loved to do wood working, and play the occasional game of volleyball.
Merle is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Audrey; sons, Mark (Lorraine) of Weymouth, Kirk (Megan) of Indiana, USA, Daughter-in-law, Karen, Calgary; grandchildren, Trevor, Erin, Amy, Jonathan, Callie, Caleb, Kate, Aiden, Mia, Reid, Jenna,; eight great grandchildren; brothers, James (Shelia) and Dwight (Pat), both of Alberta; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sons, Kent, in infancy (1970), Neil (1987); sisters, Viola, Lydia, Katie; brothers Curly, Henry, Elmer, Isadore, Ed (Ruth), Reuben and Jack. A private family graveside service will take place at the Church of Christ Cemetery, with a memorial service being held at a later date.
