Goldie Burstein (August 30,1923 – December 7, 2020) Beloved wife of the late Jimmy Burstein. Devoted mother of Candy , David, and the late Judy Burstein. Cherished grandmother of Charlie, Jack, and Ellie. Loving sister and sister in law of the late Daisy and Alec Biderman, Ruth and Hank Rosen , Ettie and Joe Kay, Anne and Irving Strasberg, Sandra and the late Saul and Sara Freeman, and Edie Atkin Goodis and the late Archie Atkin and Norman Goodis
Goldie was a member of a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored. She also had a diverse group of friends from all different parts of her life.
She was an exceptionally beautiful woman both inside and out, drawing people to her because of her warmth and kindness. She loved to have people at her home and time spent there always included delicious food, lively conversations and lots of laughs.
Aside from her children and grandchildren, her proudest creation was “Dollars for David”, which enables people to share Chanukah gelt with disadvantaged children in Israel. Donations to Na’amat Canada Toronto The Goldie Burstein Memorial Fund for Dollars for David, bit.ly/3719Xr6 416-636-5425 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Goldie Burstein Monday December 07 2020..

Goldie lived a long, fulfilling life! She and Jimmy were wonderful friends of my parents, Norm and Mary Davis, with whom they shared a love of Israel and a deep commitment to Zionism. I remember vividly when Goldie first initiated her groundbreaking Dollars for David through Mary and Goldie’s Masada chapter of Pioneer Women/Na’amat. A Hanukah fundraiser for Israel, it is touching that we lose Goldie’s magic just as Hanukah approaches. Laurie, Arlene, and I share happy memories of Goldie and all the Burstein family.
Her memory will be a blessing.
Love,
Nona Davis Fienberg
