Obituary of Doris Ann Wemp
Wemp, Doris Ann (nee Storring) – Unexpectedly after a brief illness at Kingston Health Sciences Centre on Saturday, December 5, 2020 in her 82nd year. Predeceased by her parents Norman and Freida Storring (nee Schonauer).
Beloved wife of Leigh Herbert Wemp (predeceased), dear mother to son Herbert Wemp (Cheryl) and daughter Valerie Wemp-Rochefort (Chris). Grandmother to Kailey Wemp and Adam Wemp. Adored sister to the late Douglas Storring (Betty), Ronald Storring (Evelyn), Mary lynn Bell (late Walter). She will also be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Doris was actively involved in a Quilting Club and went to many quilt shows in the area, member of The United Empire Loyalists Association of Canada. Retired member of C.U.P.E. She enjoyed participating with her husband Leigh with their standard-bred horses at local race tracks back in the day.
The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at KGH Kidd 5 for their support.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd, Kingston. The Funeral Service in the Chapel will take place on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at 11:00 am followed by a burial at Glenwood Cemetery on Amherst Island.
RSVP is required for both the visitation and the service and can be done by visiting Doris’s obituary page at www.jamesreidfuneralhome.com or by calling 613-544-3411 between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
For those people wishing to attend the Chapel service, but are unable to, you are invited to join by livestream by registering at this link.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of your Choice.
We at the James Reid Funeral Home, would like to let you know that we have had an employee test positive for COVID on Wednesday, November 25, {Tested Monday, November 23}. The Kingston Public Health Unit has investigated, the funeral home has been deep cleaned and it has been deemed safe for everyone to be in our building. Also, the rest of our staff who have been tested, tested negative.
The Kingston Public Health Unit has concluded there is no exposure to the Public.
