Mary Jane Dorey
75, 0f Hubbards, passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Shoreham Village, Chester. Born in Halifax she was the daughter of Gordon and Irene (Arnett) Arthur
Mary Jane had worked at the Hubbards Medical Centre with Doctor Cole and Slipp for over 40 years and also with Doctor Maclean. She always did everything 110%. She spent a lot of her time volunteering especially for the Hubbards Heritage Society, and different church functions around the community. She loved working at the school helping children with learning disabilities and did this for a few years before she officially retired.
She enjoyed going for drives with her husband around the community and loved going with Amy and her family on outings and spending time with her granddaughter Rachael. Mary Jane spent every Friday with her best friend Helen MacLean having coffee and chatting about everything under the sun. She always had a special place in her heart for her beloved animals that she has had. And she loved Christmas and telling us her birthday is December 23rd. She will be greatly missed by the community and her family.
Survived by her husband Fred; daughter, Amy (Ed) DeLorey, Hubbards; step-children, Angela, Allan (Julie), Halifax; and Daniel (Thomas), Chester; grandchildren, Rachael, Sheena, Troy; brothers, Owen (Maureen), Saskatchewan; Bruce (Corrine), Halifax.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions there will be no services at this time. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses on C wing and the home support workers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Nova Scotia Alzheimer Society. Online condolences can be made to www.rawalker.ca
