Obituary for Keitha Hogan
Keitha Ruth Hogan, a member of Walpole Island First Nation, passed away peacefully at Copper Terrace in Chatham on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the age of 85. Keitha is the daughter of the late Simeon Sr. Blackbird and Adeline (Sword) Blackbird. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Wheat & Michael Hogan. Loving mother of Brenda Wheat-Sinclair (Steve), Simone Wheat (Sara), Clifford R. Wheat and the late Neil Wheat. Stepmother of Patricia (Dennis) Gehringer, Colleen Pittman, Mary LaPointe (Mike), Kathleen Crossman, Daniel Hogan, Michael J. Hogan Jr. and Maureen Hogan. Dear grandmother of Neomi C. Williams, Serena Williams, Brent Williams, Alani Ermatinger and Corbin Ermatinger and 5 great grand-children. Sister of Verena, Veronica, Eliza and the late Marianne, Sadie, William and Simeon Jr.. Keitha had worked in Michigan as a nurse until retirement. She also has worked for a short period as a PSW in Canada. She lived in Michigan for most of her life and lived between Walpole Island, Michigan and Arizona depending on the season. She was a member of the WIFN Seniors Sewing Club and loved Bingo and helping people. The family will receive relatives and friends at the HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg from 2-6 PM on Wednesday. The graveside burial will be held at Highbanks Cemetery on Thursday, December 3 at 11 AM.
