Obituary
With sadness, but appreciation for a life well lived, the family of Barbara Ann (McIntyre) Freeze announce her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. Born September 19, 1934 in Saint John, Barb was the daughter of the late Andrew & Evelyn (Allen) McIntyre. Survived by her three daughters Lynn Freeze, Lori (Kevin Bennett), Lisa (Steve Jardine), and one daughter-in-law Brenda Freeze. Barb was a devoted grandmother to Stephen, Michael, Julie, Shawn, Jeff, Greg, Melissa, Ashley, Courtney, Elliot, Ava, and their families. Loving great-grandmother to fifteen beautiful great-grandchildren.
Barb is also survived by four siblings, Marilyn Craft, Debbie (Doug McIllwraith), Vaughn McIntyre, Robert (Gillian) McIntyre, and one brother-in-law Frank Freeze (Valarie); nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years Bud Freeze, her second husband Everett Dickie, and her beloved son Mark Freeze.
Barb was employed for over 30 years in various roles within the provincial government, retiring from the Provincial Registry Office in 1994. In their younger years, Barb & Bud enjoyed many summers camping at the Narrows and Pine Cone, and socializing with all of their friends in Champlain Heights. After retirement, Barb enjoyed wintering in Largo, Florida with family and friends, first at Vacation Village and then Palm Hill.
Barb loved to shop, play bridge, travel, and cook Sunday dinners for her children and grandchildren. Her greatest devotion was to her family, by whom she will be forever remembered for her loving & generous spirit, her sense of humour and her warm acts of kindness. Barb was a member of the St David’s Church in Rothesay, NB.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) Private family services will be held on Monday November 30th at 12:00 p.m. Due to the current pandemic and public health regulations the service is open only to the immediate family. We invite those who cannot attend to view the service by visiting the funeral home website.
