Obituary of EDITHA TATE
TATE, Editha (nee Sonnenberg) – Passed away at Parkview Meadows Long Term Care, Townsend on Wednesday November 25, 2020 formerly of Simcoe in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Raymond Tate (2002). Cherished mother of Linda (and Ralph Robinson), Larry and daughter-in-law Kandis (and Robert) Sims. Lovingly remembered by two grandchildren Kelly, Jason (and Kasha) and great grandson Riven. Dear sister of Ella Sonnenberg, Marlene (and Frank) Perkins, Arnold (and Barb), Harold (and Cinda). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Rudolf and Amelia, brothers Albert, Henry, Bert, Max, sisters Fleda and Erna. Editha was born in Townsend Centre and lived and worked in the area all her life. She was an elementary teacher/librarian for over 30 years, retiring from Bloomsburg Public School. She was a member of Bloomsburg Baptist Church, formerly a member of Lynnville Women’s Institute, and Waterford Horticultural Society. Friends and family may be received at Thompson-Mott Funeral Home, Waterford Saturday November 28, 2020 from 11:30-12:30pm. A Graveside Service will follow at 1pm at Waterford Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Eleanor Emmott and Rev. Allan Burr officiating. Following funeral guidelines for Covid-19 family and friends are required to make an appointment for visitation and graveside service by either calling 519-443-5332 or RSVP through our website. Masks and distancing are required. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the charity of your choice.
