Allen Walter Parlee
1938-2020
Allen Parlee of Moncton passed away at The Moncton Hospital
on November 22, 2020. Born in Moncton he was the son of the
Late Hillis and Clara (Studley) Parlee. He had a 37
½ year career as a Senior Capital Accounting Clerk for the
CNR.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Brenda; daughter Angela
(Jonathan) Feindel, sons: Andrew (Chantal) Parlee, Matthew (Jennifer)
Parlee, step-son, Ian (Kerry) Stewart; sister, Marolyn (Jim) Dawson,
step-sister Carolyn (late Rand) Smith, brothers: Norris (Dovie)
Parlee, Howard (Mary) Parlee, grandchildren: Catherine, Alexandre,
Alasdair, Gretchen, Laken, step-grandchildren Liam and Graham and
several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was
predeceased by his step-mother Marion (Crossman) Parlee and
sister-in-law Carole (McEwen) Parlee.
Allan was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved
them all dearly. There were many enjoyable times from their early
years and forward, a true gift from God. Allen and Brenda along with
their children enjoyed a good 10 years of trailering in parts of
Canada and the US.
He enjoyed playing hockey and ball, as well as hunting,
fishing, scuba diving, photography, taxidermy, wood working and family
genealogy. in 1997 Allen helped with the Moncton Hockey History Book,
“From Pond to Pro”, a history of Hockey in the
Moncton region from 1984 – 1996, in which he donated the
profits to both the local Moncton Hospitals. He also wrote a poem
“The Love of The Game” which was included in the
book (From Pond to Pro), he also wrote short stories.
Allen was a former member of the Society for International
Hockey Research and a member of the CN Pensioners Association. He
began working with the CN accounting department in the Atlantic
Building on John St. in Moncton. In 1962 the accounting office moved
to the New NC Terminal Building on Main Steet in Moncton, where he
worked until his retirement in October 1993.
The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Davidson, Dr. Abdel
Samad as well as the nurses and staff of The Moncton Hospital for
their compassion and support.
Due to the current Covid 19 restrictions, a private family
service will take place from Cobb’s Funeral Home and
Cremation Center, 330 Whitepine Road, Riverview (869-2007) on Friday,
November 27, 2020 with Rev. Jerry Reddy presiding. Interment
will take place at Fair Haven Cemetery. Donations in Allen’s
memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The
service will be recorded and can be viewed the following day on his
