Danny’s Obituary
Norman Daniel McKay was born in Hines Creek to Ruby and Eban McKay. He grew up on the family farm east of town. He attended school in Hines Creek, worked on farm and for various employers in the area as he grew up. Danny loved hockey and attended most games around the country as the game became more popular. Uncle Danny would go to work for B.C. Rail out of Chetwynd, B.C. and for 12 years was employed at Confer Mill in Ft. St. John. He worked at Boston Pizza in Ft. St. John for years and cultivated many friendships around the town. He attended almost all Ft. St. John Flyers games and was friends with many players and spectators.
Eventually Danny moved into a group home in Stony Plain where he lived the last 12 years.
Uncle Danny loved everyone, everywhere he went he made friends who always had a kind word and time for him. He loved his family and would always ask about his nieces and nephews.
Sadly, Danny passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 77 at the Fairview hospital. Home again.
He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him and let him into their lives. He was a good man.
He is survived his sisters, Harriet Look, Linda Weber (Rudy), Helen Weiting (Gene); brothers, Jim Mckay (Cherie), Chris Mckay (Mike).
A Memorial Service will be held in the summer of 2021.
If friends so desire donations can be made to the Stollery Children’s Foundation as of expressions of sympathy.
