Rev. George Maloney of Cornwall, passed away peacefully at the St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Dear brother of Reverend Kelvin Maloney of Cornwall, Morris Maloney (Irene) of Gatineau, and Gus Maloney (Carol) of Cornwall. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ambrose and Isabel Maloney (nee MacMillan), by two sisters Monica Wheeler, and Ruth Wicha (Ray of Brantford), and by five brothers, Harold, Lawrence, Patrick, Ernest and Leonard Maloney. Rev. Maloney will lay in state in the Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Cornwall on Thursday, November 19, 2020 from 2-4 pm & 7-9 pm, and on Friday from 10:30 am -12 pm, during which an attendance-controlled visitation will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Friday, November 20, 2020 at 1 pm. Interment will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Church Cemetery, St. Andrews. Facemasks and social distancing will be mandatory inside the Church, and seats will be limited. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Wilson Funeral Home 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall (613-938-3888). As expressions of sympathy Mass offerings or Memorial Donations to the Children’s Treatment Centre, Cornwall would be appreciated by the family.
