Barbara Smith
1925-2020
Barbara C. Smith, 94, of Intervale,
passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Monday, November 9, 2020. Born
in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Eleanor (Roy)
Gorman.
Barbara was a homemaker who enjoyed time
spent with her family. She prided herself in raising her children, and
was an excellent grandmother. She was also an avid Bingo
player.
Survived and sadly missed by her
daughter, Sandra Smith (Willie); son, G. Wayne Smith (Anne); ten
grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
brother, William Gorman; sisters, Geraldine Bagnell, Joan Pierce, and
Veronica Wagner; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Barbara was
predeceased by her husband, Gerald Kilgour Smith (1996); daughter,
Dale Black (2020); grandson, David Rhude (2009); granddaughter, Marie
Anne Smith; great-granddaughter, Alicia Wheaton; brothers, Harold,
Leo, Tom and Jack; sisters, Shirley, and Sharon.
Sincere thank-you to Nancy Brace and her
staff at Country Care for the wonderful care Barbara
received over the last 12 years.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,
there will be a private family graveside service at the Anagance
Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements in care of The Salisbury
Funeral Home (372-4800). If desired, memorials to the Anagance Public
Hall would be appreciated.
