Margaret passed away peacefully on November 1, 2020 age 94. Born in Sutton-Coldfield,
England, Margaret is predeceased by her husband, Harry Garnett, her parents Percy and
Clarice Redman and her brother Felix John Redman.
Margaret proudly served in the Auxiliary Territorial Services as an Officer Cadet. While in
service, she met and married Harry Garnett. In 1956, once Harry found work in Ottawa,
Margaret came to Canada with their sons Anthony (Tony) and Kevin.
Margaret worked as an Actuarial Assistant with the Federal Department of Insurance. She was a
long-time supporter of the National Gallery of Canada, the Canadian Wildlife Fund and
numerous other charities. Margaret loved her drives in the countryside, walks to see the Tulip
festival, her travels back to England. She was an avid reader and collector of books.
She was a doting mother and adoring Nanny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She
will be lovingly remembered by Kevin and Dominique and their children, Nigel, Robin (Jamie)
and Amelia (Ben); and by Tony and Sandra and their children, Jennifer (Martin), Michael, and
Matthew (Stephanie). Her great grandchildren Darius, Jesse, Maika and Evan will fondly
remember her love and kindness.

compassionate care.
Under Covid restrictions, the family will hold a private celebration of Margaret’s life at a later
date. Margaret will be interred at the Pinecrest Cemetery. on Baseline Road.
