Nancy’s Obituary
Nancy Lorraine Nickerson (née Reynolds) passed away peacefully in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on October 22, 2020 at the age of 82. Nancy is survived by her three sons, Stephen, Rickey and Peter, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and her sister Donna Roberts. She is preceded in death by her husband Aubrey Nickerson, father Lemont Reynolds, mother Leona Smith, step-father Ralph Smith, and granddaughter Julia Nickerson. Nancy was born on July 4, 1938. She married Aubrey Nickerson on October 20, 1953 and started a family soon after. Her children remember her as a proud mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Nancy was involved in her community and served on the Board of Stewards for the Upper Port La Tour United Church and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was involved in community fund raisers and many of the Halloween and Christmas concerts for the young people of the community which were held both at the church and the Upper Port La Tour Community Hall. After her family was grown and moved out on their own, Nancy decided to start a career in Real Estate. She was an accomplished Real Estate Agent achieving admittance into the Century 21 Canada Hall of Fame Rosters and received many awards and honors. Some of the awards and honors included the CENTURION award, Masters Hall of Fame, Masters Emerald Club, Canadian ‘CENTURY 21 Gold Club’ and she received the ‘Gold Club’ award for achieving sales in the top 10% of all Century 21 sales associates in Canada. Her ashes will be scattered at Parkdale Cemetery and Port La Tour Harbour at a later date. There will be a reception, with light refreshments, for family and friends at the Port Clyde Community Hall from 2 – 4 pm on Saturday, November 7, 2020. The family is grateful for the condolences, but declines flowers and donations.
