Obituary for James Pookey Gorrell
James completed his journey to Valhalla surrounded by his wife, family, and friends. James grew up with his family in the small town of Radisson, Saskatchewan until they moved to Spirit River, Alberta. He had a love for comics and video games that never left. He loved his family and took pride in taking care of them. He enjoyed the simple things and was quite content with life. If you asked him, his greatest accomplishments were his friends and family.
James leaves behind this loving wife Carrie Gorrell, step-sons Carter and Riddick, his Mom Debbie Lee Stuart, sister Bonnie (Doug) and numerous nieces and nephews, and even great nieces and nephews. Uncle Pookey loved you all!
James was pre-deceased by his father Bill, sister Unalise; nephew Tenor, and Vera Hamel (Baba).
A Celebration of Life will take place on November 1, 2020 from 3:30 – 6 PM at Rycroft Community Memorial Hall. Due to COVID restrictions in place, we are doing an open-house style service between 3:30 and 6. Please drop in anytime between those hours to pay your respects, watch the slideshow, and share a story or a memory with the family. If a lineup forms, please be patient or stop back later as we’d love to see you all.
