Henry David Hellekson
November 1, 1935 ~ November 2, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Henry David Hellekson on November 2, 2020. Henry passed way peacefully at Kootenay Lake Hospital with his son David at his side.
Henry married Louise (Bonacci) in Nelson, BC where they went on to raise their two children, Karen and David. Henry worked most of his life on the water as a tug boat operator with Kootenay Forest Products until he branched out with his own tugboat business for an additional 10 years before entering the wonderful world of retirement.
He is survived by his daughter Karen (Ed) Oltoff, his son David (Joanna) and his grand children, Lexus,
Blake, Brayden and Julia as well as his brother Vernon, sisters Alice, Betty, Barb, Margaret and Patsy.
Henry was predeceased by this wife Louise, parents David and Nora and brother Roy.
Henry has requested there not be a funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kootenay Lake
Hospital Foundation, 3 View Street, Nelson, BC V1L 2V1
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Kootenay Lake Hospital for the wonderful care they
provided Henry over the past 7 weeks and helping him through this difficult time.
Those we love don’t go away. They walk beside us every day…
unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, still missed and very dear.
