John Lockhart died peacefully at home in Hinchinbrooke, on Monday, November 2, 2020. His family, who loved him dearly, were the centre of his world and he served as a wonderful role model. John was a true gentleman and lived his life with modesty, dignity and, above all, kindness. John was the beloved husband of the late Margaret Ramsdale to whom he was married for 51 years. He was predeceased by his cherished son David. He leaves his children Peter(Wendy), Andrea (the late Stanley Lyon Selinger), Nancy (the late Murray Frum) and Robin as well as his much loved companion, Margaret Currie, and his daughter in law Karyn Lockhart. John was a loving grandfather to Ryan, Alexis and Michael Lockhart, Benjamin, Gabriel and Tamara Selinger and great grandfather to Melina Valentina, Ewan, Colm and Torin. He will be missed by many relatives and friends. John was a long standing member of Huntingdon United Church and a past master of Grand Lodge of Quebec – Waverley Lodge. The family wishes to thank John’s devoted and loving caregivers Jeannie Flowers, April Donnelly, Nora Donnelly, Brenda Elder, Pauline Moore and Heather McLean. A special thank you to daughter Andrea who selflessly devoted herself to John these last years. Owing to current COVID restrictions the funeral will be held in the intimacy of the family.
