Paul’s Obituary
Duggan, Paul Bryce Martin – 77, of Barrington Passage, passed away on November 2, 2020 at his residence. He was the eldest son of Paul and Marjorie Duggan of East Dover, Halifax County. Bryce began his working career in the accounting department of Stairs Son and Morrow in Halifax. He then joined firestone as a tire salesman covering Southern Nova Scotia. His true calling came when he was accepted at the RCMP training Depot in Regina to pursue a career as a Federal Fishery Officer. Bryce’s first posting was in Chatham, New Brunswick and was then transferred to Barrington Passage, Nova Scotia, where he raised his family and eventually retired. His proudest moment came for him and his family when he was summoned to Ottawa to personally receive the Exemplary Award from the Prime Minister’s office for going above and beyond the call of duty. Bryce was well respected in the fishing industry and was known for his fairness in the execution of his duties. Bryce has a great sense of humor, was very social and loved to play crib. He also loved fishing and hunting since early childhood. Many a deer escaped his shot either by chance or by a plan on Bryce’s part. He was always the entertainment at any and all gatherings with his appropriate and sometimes inappropriate comments. Allie and Riley always enjoyed his witticisms he played on them. Bryce was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Marjorie, brother, Edward and sister, Rosemary. He is survived by his wife, Penny; sons, Greg (Kandace) and Ryan (Beth); grandchildren, Allie (Holden), Riley (Emily) and Adelaide. Bryce would have been a great grandfather this coming spring. He is also survived by his sisters, Anne, Paula, Kate, Patrice and Susan; many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Bryce’s wishes there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. The immediate family will say their goodbyes at his favorite deer hunting spot in the spring. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington.
