Helen Filiplic 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Filiplic must announce her passing on Sunday, January 19, 2020, at the age of 73, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She is survived by her sons, Robert, Walter and Randy; grandchildren Austin and Aleesha; siblings, Nettie, Russell, Bill, Orest and Lori; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Helen is predeceased by her husband Aldo, mother Mary, father Pete and brother Eugene.
Helen grew up in Hazel Dell, Saskatchewan and when she was a teenager she came to live and work in Edmonton. She worked hard all her life; from the time she came to Edmonton until the age of 72. Helen met her husband Aldo soon after he arrived in Canada and they were together for 43 years.
Helen’s sons and grandchildren were her pride and joy and nothing made her happier than when they would get together for their Sunday dinners. She was immensely proud of them and their accomplishments. Helen was close with her brothers and sisters and was a wonderful auntie. When her husband Aldo passed away she missed him dearly. Her amazing personality made it easy to make many friends throughout her life. She will be missed by all the lives she has touched.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South, 4820 Meridian Street NW, Edmonton.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, on Friday, January 24, 2020, also at Connelly-McKinley Edmonton South. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery.
