Obituary of Lorraine May Pitt
It is with appreciation for a life well-lived and gratitude for a lifetime of memories that the family of Lorraine Pitt announces her peaceful passing, which occurred on Monday, October 26, 2020 at her residence surrounded by those she loved. Born in Saint John on March 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Amy (Cummings) Pevlin. Following her mother’s death, Lorraine lived with her mother’s grandparents, as well as her late Aunts: Emma, Ethel and Lillian.
Lorraine will be missed by her husband Peter Pitt of 61 years; her children that she was always so proud of: Linda Tremblay (Daniel), Susan McKinnon (Tom) and Malcolm “Mac” Pitt (Lisa); her beloved grandchildren, Stefanie (Jessie), Amy (Andrew), James, Michael, Megan (Drew) and Daniel (Bayli); several great-grandchildren; a special cousin Debbie Levesque (Steve); special niece Shirley Pevlin; a special friend Sherry Fulton, with whom she shared many wonderful trips with around the countryside and at the farm; as well as her church family at Harmony United.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her eldest daughter Lorie Pitt; half brother Clarence Pevlin; and a son-in-law Doug Sewell.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 from 4-7 pm. Guests are asked to enter the funeral home using the courtyard entrance, where staff will greet and assist you with Covid-19 protocol. A funeral service celebrating Lorraine’s life will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at 11:00 am from Harmony United Church, 8 Upland Rd., Saint John. Interment will take place at Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Harmony United Church (for the Christmas Basket Fund) or a charity of the donor’s choice.
