COMEAU, Richard G. “Blackie” – Age 61, of Meteghan River, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Born in Yarmouth, he was a son of the late Gilbert and Rose Emma (LeBlanc) Comeau.
Richard worked at A.F. Theriault & Son Ltd. for over 35 years. He loved the great outdoors and was an avid canoeist and cyclist. He also enjoyed wood carving as a side hobby. He enjoyed telling stories and having a good time with his friends.
He is survived by his wife, Louise, Meteghan River; son, Marcel (Robbyn McDonald), Victoria, BC; step-daughter, Tina Stuart (Kevin Babin), Concession; brother, Daniel; sister, Odette Comeau (James), Wedgeport; step-grandsons, Alex and Jonathan. He was predeceased by his brother, Roland.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Meteghan Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic provincial restrictions, a private funeral mass will be held in Stella Maris Church, Meteghan, officiated by Rev. Mathieu Agbaya.
Following the private funeral mass, the public is invited to attend the cemetery graveside prayers around 3 p.m. on Thursday, October 29 in Stella Maris Cemetery, Meteghan Centre.
Donations in memory of Richard may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
