Obituary of Ruth Miles
Ruth passed away peacefully at Lee Manor in Owen Sound on Thursday, October 22, 2020. Born in Desboro, on August 12, 1930, Ruth Annabell Miles (née Povelofskie) of Owen Sound, was in her 91st year.
Loving mother of Ryan Miles of Owen Sound and Bonnie Withrow and her husband Joe of Ohio. Cherished grandma of Dr. Amanda Rissling, Daryl Rissling, Aaron Miles, Brianna Bell (Daniel), Noah Withrow, Benjamin Withrow, and step-grandma of Chris Withrow (Elli), Steven Withrow, Dustin Withrow (Katie) and Amanda Brenneman (Aaron). Loved great-grandma of MacKenzie, Penny, Georgia, Eloise, Hope, Matthew, Johnathan, Daniel, Hannah, Josiah, Ruth Ann, Carter, Wren, Chase, Keagan, Kensey, Olivia, Avery and Cameron.
Predeceased by her husband Russell Miles, son Reynold Miles, daughter Dolly Rissling and her husband Doug, grandson Jason Miles, parents William and Anna Povelofskie, siblings Florence Mervyn (Fred), Orral Charlton (Joseph), Edna Povelofskie, Elda Harrison (Robert), Ada MacDonald (James), Elmer Povelofskie (Jean), Wilson Povelofskie, Lyle Povelofskie (Yvonne), Agnes Byers (Beverley), and by her siblings-in-law Verna Carroll (Albert) and Elva Westover (James).
Visitation will be held at the Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, 250 14th St. W., Owen Sound, 519-376-7492, on Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 1 to 3 p.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 50 people will be allowed in the building at any given time and visitors are required to wear a mask and follow physical distancing rules. A private funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, October 25, 2020. Friends and family are welcome to view the service at 10 a.m. via livestream by selecting the ‘LIVE STREAMING’ menu option at the top right corner of the funeral home website (woodfuneralhome.ca). Private interment will take place in Brampton Cemetery, 10 Wilson Ave., Brampton, later in the afternoon and again, friends and family can view the service at the cemetery at 2 p.m. via livestream.
