October 10, 2020 – Black Diamond, Alberta
Megan Bearspaw of Eden Valley, Alberta passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the age of 47 years with family at her bedside.
Mega was raised traditionally and loved the outdoors. Megan’s favorite time was the summer and fall as she enjoyed berry picking and the family hunting camps. She enjoyed making dry meat and tanning hides. Megan was a Jingle Dancer back in the day and attended various powwows in Alberta and BC. Megan was very crafty. She enjoyed sewing as well. Megan had an awesome voice and loved to sing. Megan’s favourite animal was the dolphin.
Megan is lovingly remembered her loving husband of 30 years, Steven Dixon, her son Ira, daughter Destiny (Coy); grandchildren Macy, Bryce, Felix, Lilliya and Araya; brothers Ralph Cumer and Eric, sisters Kolet (George), Floranda, Roxanne (Ally), Rochelle (Byron) and Lindsay (Strephon). Megan leaves behind family in Morley and Eden Valley; Holloway, Ear, Daniels, Dixon and Lefthand. The family would like to apologize if we missed anyone.
Megan was predeceased by her father Floyd Bearspaw, mother Faye Ear, brother Owen Kootenay, sisters Tracy Ear, Pamela Daniels, adopted sister Kelsey Benjamin, uncle Tayler, Durelle and Gerald. Wake services will ben held at the residence of Steven Dixon, Eden Valley, Alberta, Thursday, October 15, 2020 and Friday, October 16, 2020. Funeral services will be held at Thye Eden Valley Hockey Arena Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 am.
