Passed peacefully away at The Salvation Army Glenbrook Lodge on Friday, October 9, 2020 at age 83 years after a battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband, Doug (May 2009). Left with a lifetime of wonderful memories are her daughter and best friend, Valerie Burry Hillier and her precious grandson, Nicholas Hillier; sisters-in-law Minnie Compton, Botwood, NL, Jean Burry, Whitby, ON, Eva Roberts, Oshawa, ON, and Gladys (Ross) Wheaton, St. John’s, NL, as well as a large circle of other family and friends. Special thanks to Dr. David Jones for his care over the past five years. Also, thank you to the staff of Glenbrook Lodge for the amazing care and family support provided over the past week. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, following COVID-19 restrictions, on Monday, October 12 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Citadel, Adams Avenue with interment to follow at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Blackmarsh Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army St. John’s Citadel Corps.
