Janice Velora Gildart
1940-2020
Mrs. Janice Velora Gildart, 80, of White Head Island, NB,
passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 11, 2020 at the
Grand Manan Nursing Home. Janice was the daughter of the
late Laurence and Juanita (Morse) Trecartin.
Janice started her working career in 1958 at
Conner’s Brothers, as a secretary. She joined the Canadian
Airforce for a short period, and then entered back into the civilian
workforce, where she worked in variety of jobs until her retirement in
2010.
Janice is survived her daughters, Anita (David) Miller of
White Head Island, NB, Marlene (Brian) Knight of White Head Island,
NB; son Howard Gildart of Toronto, ON; sisters Marguerite (Rete)
(Eldon) Rideout, of Saint John, NB, Leah Loof of
White Head Island, NB, Linda (Lawrence) McIntyre of McAdam,
NB; brothers Rodney (Norah) Trecartin, and William (Billy) (Candy)
Trecartin, of White Head Island, NB; Nanna Jan to Tiffany, Nathaniel
and Josh, three great grandchildren and many nieces,
nephews.
Janice is predeceased by her parents, her brother Larry
Trecartin, (1969) and her partner, Everett Scott, (1995) of 20
years.
Janice’s wishes were to have no visitation or
funeral service. Janice’s family would like to express their
appreciation and gratitude to the nurses and staff of the Grand Manan
Nursing Home for their excellent care and love of their Mum. They made
her transition there easy and she never wanted to
leave.
