Obituary of Lorna Diane Wright
It is with heavy hearts the family of Lorna Diane (Hamilton), Roy, Wright announces her peaceful passing after a long courageous battle with cancer at Bobby’s Hospice, Saint John on January 18, 2020. Lorna was born in Saint John, NB on August 23, 1949, a daughter of Susan (Douglas) and Dean Hamilton.
Lorna worked at Centercare and St. Joseph’s Hospital for 22 years before retiring. She was known for her quick wit and snappy comebacks. Lorna loved bingo and traveled with trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Louisiana, Pennsylvania to visit her cousin Nancy and husband Jim, and across Canada.
Survived by her sons: Ronald and Gary; daughter, Wanda (John); grandchildren: Mathew, Sarah-Lynn (Jared) and Kyle; great granddaughters: Lumin and RylieMae; brother, Gary; sisters: Carma and Wanda (Allen); aunt, Grace, along with nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Lorna was predeceased by her husband Arthur Wright: brother, Phillip; brother-in-law, Kenneth and sister-in-law, Yvonne.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care of Lorna, your kindness will always be remembered.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John. The family will be accepting visitors on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 1:00 pm – 1:50 pm, with Funeral Service to follow at 2:00 pm in the Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home Chapel. A private interment will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
