John Edward Hartung
of Palmerston passed away peacefully at the Palmerston and District Hospital on Monday, October 5, 2020 in his 94th year. Beloved husband of the late Aradith Hartung (2015). Dear father of Dianne and her husband Dave Fitchett of Chepstow, Bryan and his wife Lois Lanteigne of Kanata, Paul and his wife Janice Hartung of Listowel and Doreen and her husband Dave Jarrett of Hannon. Step father of Doug Mason of Ottawa, Grandfather and great grandfather of Sally Hartung and Owen Tyler Hartung and Jacob and Sarah, Dale Hartung and Tabatha Rozema and Katrina, Leah and Abbi, Jaime and Jessy Hartung, Dylan and Avery, Michael and Natalie Jarrett, Makayla, Jase and Jaxon Jeffrey Jarrett and Ashley Casey. Step grandfather of Danielle and Nicole. Brother of David Hartung and his friend Lillian Henry of Palmerston. Laverne Hartung of Aberfoyle, and Wayne Hartung of Listowel. Brother-in-law of Inez Hartung, Joan Hartung, and Graham and Eleanor Bridge and Marguerite Bridge Predeceased by his parents Edward and Martha (Schmidt) Hartung, brothers Lyle, Delton, Ken and Gerald Hartung sisters Mildred Hammond and Dorothy Reick. To Honour John’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Palmerston Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation or the Zion United Church would be appreciated by the family.
