Obituary
Fote Liaridis, Lucky as he was called by those who knew him, passed peacefully on Saturday, October 3, 2020.
His earlier years were spent working for his father at their Cameo Bakery. Later, Lucky worked alongside his uncle and brother at George’s Place Concessions where they hosted food service for hockey tournaments, swim meets, concerts, etc. The last few years were spent visiting with family, helping to take care of his mother, going to the casino, or for a coffee to meet up with friends. Lucky long struggled with ailments of the heart and diabetes but downplayed his pain to lighten the mood and make those around him happy. He often said things that would both shock you, and at the same time make you laugh. He was, as they say, “rough around the edges”, but he had the softest heart.
Lucky loved his three wonderful children, Krina Liaridis, Joanne Liaridis and John Liaridis. He adored and was so proud of his grandchildren, nieces, and grandnephews. When Lucky spoke of them, his face lit up. Any pictures or news he would receive of them would make his eyes glisten and give him a chuckle. He loved them more than words could ever express. Lucky lived his life on his own terms and loved his family deeply.
Lucky will forever be remembered for his humor, his jokes, and his laughter. We miss you dodo bird! Dad, you did good!
Lucky is survived by his children Krina, Joanne, and John Liaridis; his grandchildren Amanda, Shayden, Kennedy, and Tyler; his mother Krina Liaridis; his sister Vicky Cozias (George); his brother George (Tina); his nieces Kati, Krina (Chris), Maria, and Krina; and his great nephews Vasilios and George.
Due to Covid-19, the prayers and funeral services were held privately. The family thanks you in advance for your understanding.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks those who wish to honor Lucky’s memory to donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his name (www.heartandstroke.ca).
