Obituary of Sharon Kathleen Gilliland
With her loving children by her side, we announce the passing of Sharon Kathleen Gilliland (nee Williams) at Strathroy Middle General Hospital on October 1st, 2020 in her 77th year. Dear wife of the late Ernie Gilliland (2015). Beloved mother of Shelley (Darrell) Butler and Greg (Shelley) Gilliland. Adored nana and grandma of Michael (Tyana), William (Michelle), Jamie, Derek (Karley), Jennifer (Ryan), Jessica (Kareem), Jodi and Julie. Cherished great grandmother of Everette, Ayda Rose, Liam, Sean and Thatcher. Sharon is survived by her siblings Vicki (Don) MacKenzie, Rick (Gwen) Williams and Mike Williams (John Spence). She will be missed by her fur baby Brooke.
Predeceased by her parents Jim and Dorothy Williams, granddaughter Samantha and her siblings Marilyn and Nancy.
Sharon went to business school in Sarnia and moved on to work at the Watford Guide Advocate for 45 years until retirement. She enjoyed travelling and finally checked travelling by airplane off her bucket list 3 years ago.
In keeping with Sharon’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5th, 2020 at Wisbeach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Strathroy Middle General Hospital-Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to DENNING’S OF WATFORD.
