Dorothy Marie Dot Zwicker 19392020

Dorothy Marie “Dot” Zwicker
1939-2020
Dorothy “Dot” Marie (Hubley) Zwicker, age 81, died
unexpectedly at South Shore Regional Hospital on September 22,
2020.
Dot was born and raised in Bayswater, NS by her beloved parents,
Thomas and Isabel Hubley.
She caught the travel bug when she was very young and enjoyed many
trips with family and special sisterly friends. Dot was a people
person and was a friend to all that met her. She was fortunate to
enjoy many lifelong friendships.
From a very early age, Dot began and cultivated what would become her
lifelong love of entrepreneurship. She worked and supported her
husband’s business into their retirement. She dedicated many
years to volunteering for multiple non-profit organizations and was a
long-standing member of the Western Shore Firemen’s Ladies
Auxiliary. She was also proud of her involvement as Leader with the
Girl Guides of Canada and her achievement of raising tens of thousands
of dollars for Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital in Lunenburg with
the help of a dear friend.
Dot’s grandchildren were her absolute crowning glory and there were no
bounds to her devotion to Geoff, Luc and Rachel. Nanny was there for
them at every turn and whenever they needed her. She will be missed
too by Tucker, her cherished four-legged friend.
Dot is survived by her husband of 62 years, David L. Zwicker;
daughters, Andrea (Greg) Swinamer, Anita (Raymond) Wilwand and
unofficially adopted daughter, Dianne (Stevens) Perceval;
grandchildren, Geoffrey (Jessy James), Lucas (Bronwyn), and Rachel
(Patrick); great-granddaughters, Ruby and Scarlet and sister Erma
Bremner.
The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Lunenburg County
Home Support, VON, and Bunny for her many years of caring and
dedication.
Cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay,
NS.
