1931-2020
Bradley, E. Faye, 89, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully
Tuesday September 29, 2020 at home. Born in Onslow, she was the
daughter of the late Frank and Louise (Nelson) Baird. Faye started her
married life in Princeport at the Bradley Family Dairy Farm. She later
moved to Bible Hill in 1964 where she spent the remainder of her life
at the same residence. She was a member of St. David’s
United Church, Bible Hill, lifetime member of Hannah Unit U.C.W., and
a member of St. David’s Quilters. In her later years she
opened her house to International Students and became “Faye
Mom” to several International Children. As her health failed,
she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and quiet time at home with family and
friends. Besides quilting, she enjoyed sewing and donated hundreds of
quilts to various charities and fund raisers. She also demonstrated
quilting at the Antique Farm Museum every year at the N.S.P.E. She is
survived by her children, Keith (Kathryn) Bradley, Bible Hill, Gwen
(Sterling) Gero, Bible Hill, Judy Nelson, South Branch, Shirley
Bradley, Valley, Linda (Winston) Osmond, Fogo Island, NL;
grandchildren, Greg, Sandra, Colin, Mitchell, Felicia, Shayne, Devin,
Sarah; 8 great-grandchildren; brothers, Page Baird, Onslow, Lawrence
(Joan) Baird, Five Houses, Danny (Sally) Baird, Aspen, Allan (Doris)
Baird, Green’s Creek; numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Alexander
“Fred” Bradley; sisters, Sue Horder, Velma Bonnell;
son-in-law Peter Nelson.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, Oct. 4, from 10 am
until 12 noon. Covid-19 restrictions will apply with masks to be worn
and practice social distancing. A graveside service will follow at
2:00 pm in the Old Barns Cemetery, Old Barns with April Hart, Student
Minister, officiating. Due to Covid-19 and Public Health requirements,
a maximum of 250 people will be permitted to attend and masks are
required. Please bring your own chair, practice physical distancing
and register with one of the funeral directors upon arrival is a must.
Webcasting will be uploaded at a later time due to no internet
connection at the cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of
Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Donations in
memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Fund or to a charity of choice.
