Bradford Scott Brad Sorrell 19492020

Bradford Scott “Brad” Sorrell
1949-2020
Brad passed away peacefully at the Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital,
Lunenburg, after an uphill battle with cancer, on September 27th 2020.
His terminal care in Lunenburg by all staff was exemplary and his
wishes carried out exactly as he himself wrote in his Living Will.
Similarly his home care by the Palliative Care Physician and Nurse,
together with the VON, was of the highest professional standards and
much appreciated by Brad.
Brad was born in Montana, U.S.A. on December 29th 1949. He was
predeceased by his parents, Ruth and Raymond Sorrell. He leaves behind
daughters, Jennifer Overington, Dartmouth and Katherine Sorrell,
Ontario.
Brad lived a life dedicated to craftsmanship and design, of which he
was a master. He also excelled in identification of many woods, both
exotic and local.
Many will remember his time at NSCAD, both as a student and teacher,
Lee Valley Tools, Amos Woods both in Halifax and Mahone Bay, The Nova
Scotia Museum, New Ross Branch, where he worked not only as a
“history interpreter” but as a cooper.
Among many other projects he also worked on Theodore Tug Boat and the
Annapolis Valley Power Project.
Brad requested cremation, no funeral, with his ashes to be spread at
sea at a later date.
Cremation arrangements in the competent and understanding hands of
