It is with a heavy heart and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Antonina “Toni” Fortun at the age of 74 on September 19, 2020. Antonina passed away at home with both her children by her side after a short battle with cancer.
Beloved wife of Matt, devoted and loving mother of daughter Violet with husband Joe, son Danny, and wife Michelle. Cherished grandmother of Alysha, Sarah, Jordan, Katie, Andrew and Ryan. Dear sister of Gladys, Stanislawa, Janina, Tadeusz, Jan, Mieczyslaw and Leon.
Mom was an incredible soul that provided us with unconditional love her entire life. All that knew her would agree she was truly an unbelievable mother and friend. An overly
generous, selfless and humble lady who was always more concerned of the wellbeing of others over herself right up until moments before her own death.
She always inspired us to be kind, and nurture family love. Much of her life’s purpose and what she loved most about her own life was to bring us together as a family, in intimate gatherings. It is what made her heart smile the brightest.
The person she choose to be, and the way she lived her life has guaranteed that heaven has gained another angel.
We will struggle with her loss and the inexpressible void we feel in our hearts. We know she will be with us through this life and one day we will once again be reunited.
We love you Mom.
You will never be forgotten.
A private visitation for immediate family will be held at Turner & Porter Peel Chapel on Friday, September 25, 2020. Private Funeral Mass to be held at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church Mississauga on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery.
If desired, donations may be made to Trillium Health Partners or Canadian Cancer Society.
