Obituary for Claudia King
Marie Claudia King, Age 93, of Grand Blanc, formerly of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020, at Ascension Genesys Hospital, with her family by her side. Claudia was born in Ste. Therese, New Brunswick, Canada, in 1926, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest and Leonile (Roy) Boudreau. As a young woman, Claudia met the love of her life, Elmer King. The two dated, fell in love and were married in Wallaceburg, Ontario, in 1946. Sadly, he preceded her in death on March 27, 2018. Claudia was a busy homemaker before going to work as a cashier in the food service department at Macomb Community College. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the casino, playing cards, doing word searches, and simply having fun! Left to cherish Claudia’s memory are her daughter’s: Connie, (Brian) Fishtahler, and Diane (Peter) Schmidt; daughter-in-law: Lynn King; grandchildren: Amie (Trevor), Eric (Shannon), Alicia, and Cory; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Lillian, Olivia, Maxwell, and Cole; and sister, Rita (Peter) Walker. Claudia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elmer; son, Gerry; grandson, Jesse; her parents; and several brothers and sisters. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Memorial Mass of the Resurrection and celebration of Claudia’s life will be announced at a later date. The HAYCOCK-CAVANAGH FUNERAL HOME, 409 Nelson Street in Wallaceburg has been entrusted with the arrangements. If desired, remembrances to the Alzheimer Society may be left at the funeral home 519.627.3231. Online tributes may be left at www.CavanaghFuneralHome.ca
