Obituary of Sharon Standing
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Sharon Standing (nee Anderson) announces her passing at home on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the age of 61 with her loving family by her side. Born in Port aux Basques, Sharon was the daughter of Lorraine (Read) and Gerald Anderson. She leaves to mourn with fond and precious memories her loving husband of 40 years, Dave; son, Walter Standing (Krystle); daughters, Tanya (Jamie) Pope, Denise (Graham) McDonald; grandchildren, Blake Pope, Jessica McDonald, and Brooke Pope; brother, Art (Sharon) Anderson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marjorie (Clyde) Marsden, Lillian (Rueben) Rose, Wilfred (Emily) Standing, Helen Hayman, Rose Courtney, Bill (Jane) Standing, Leonard Standing, Daphne (Rex) Marsden, Roy (Phoebe) Standing, Junior (Christa) Standing, and Lisa (Dick) Osmond; her Aunt Edith Anderson and caregiver Sandra Stacey, along with a large circle of nieces, nephews and many friends. Sharon was predeceased by her father, Gerald Anderson, and brother-in-law John Hayman
After a long, hard fight, Sharon is finally at peace and in keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving friends and family on Sunday, September 20 from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques. As per Sharon’s request, there will be no formal funeral service. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in memory of Sharon can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
