Obituary of J. A. (Real) Couillard
Couillard, J. A. (Real) –
The death of J. A. (Real) Couillard, husband of the late Therese (Paquet) Couillard, of Saint John, occurred on September 14, 2020, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Rimouski, QC, he was a son of the Late Albert and Alice (Pigeon) Couillard.
Real worked as the Manager of Transportation for C.P. Smith and during World War II he was in the Merchant Marines, serving on the Lady Laurier and the Chesterfield. During the summertime, Real enjoyed St. Martins and the Century Farm Campground, and in later years, he enjoyed summers at the trailer in Taylor Lake.
Survived by his daughter: Diane (Clarence) Couillard Labrie of Saint-René-de-Matane, QC; 2 grandchildren: Melanie and Jean Francois (Caroline); 6 great grandchildren: Samuel, Camille, Raphael, Abigail, Tristan, and Gédéon; sister: Marjholaine Brady, of Laval, QC; brother-in-law: Jean Paul (Adelberthe) Paquet; several nieces and nephews; as well as his loving companion Agnes Roche and her family.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424) Following the protocols in place for Covid 19, the family is going to receive guests on Friday, September 18, 2020, from 3 PM – 7 PM at the Vimy Estates, 190 Churchill Blvd., Saint John. Visitors are asked to enter through the front door, where they will be greeted by a member of the family to ensure the room’s maximum capacity of 20 is respected at all times.
