DAVIS
Dallas Wayne Davis born January 26, 1925 to Avah and Bernice Davis in Taber. He passed away September 14, 2020 at 95 years of age. As the only son of Avah and Bernice, Wayne, as he liked to be called, was a hardworking farmer from an early age. He met his soulmate late in life, Thelma and was married April 11, 1981. During his marriage to Thelma they farmed in the Penhold area and retired to the sunny Okanagan. Together they travelled to visit family and friends, including their daughter Melanie and husband Al in Ontario. After leaving the Okanagan Valley they returned to Alberta, in the Olds/Innisfail area. Wayne’s remaining years as a widower brought him near his daughter, Laurette and her husband Stan in Olds. He would take the annual “trek” through the Rockies to see eldest daughter Val and husband Walter in the Penticton area. Wayne enjoyed canning the BC fruit and was spoiled with sauerkraut and cheese curds. At home he was an avid puzzler and soon began to enjoy adult coloring books when his fingers and eyesight began to fail at puzzle making. Wayne was also named most faithful fan to his grandson’s high school football team, the Spartans, as well as his granddaughter, April’s softball league. He also had a deep faith in God and attended the Church of the Nazarene regularly. He lived what he believed and was always an example to us through his faith. Wayne was loved by all who knew him and our world is a better place for it. Good Bye Dad. Wayne was predeceased by his Mom, Dad, spouse Thelma and 3 sisters. A private family service will be held.
