Alice Wortman
1924-2020
Alice Dorothy Wortman, 95, formerly of
Harrisville, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the
Lakeview Manor Nursing Home. Born in Hillsborough, she was the
daughter of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Wright)
Hopper.
Throughout her life, Mom was very active
in her church, the Women’s Institute, and the Pythian
Sisters. Our home in Harrisville was always open to friends and
family. When she was able to, she loved to spend time at our family
cottage in Caissie Cape, playing cards, doing puzzles and
cooking.
She will be sadly missed by her
daughters, Roberta (Bill) Brewer, and Linda (Peter) Nichols; seven
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nine
great-great-grandchildren; her twin brothers, Arnold and Donald
Hopper; daughter-in-law, Sharon; son-in-law, George Havelock;
sister-in-law, Joyce; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alice was
predeceased by her husband, James “Jim” Wortman; daughter,
Wanita; son, James (Sonny); grandson, Craig Nichols; great-grandson,
James Wortman, and many siblings.
The family wishes to express their
sincere gratitude to the Truleigh Country Manor and Lakeview Manor for
their care and kindness. It was truly appreciated.
Arrangements in care of The Salisbury
Funeral Home and Crematorium (506-372-4800). Due to Covid-19
restrictions, family and friends will be invited to a Celebration of
Alice’s Life at the family cottage at a later date followed
by a private family Graveside Service at Fairhaven Memorial
Gardens.

Heart (Lakeview Manor – hair salon) or a charity of your
choice would be appreciated.
