It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Howard Wardale ‘Dale’ Bye at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Dale was born on July 19, 1933 at Peace River, Alberta. He was raised on the family farm in the Dixonville Area. He loved the land and was a successful farmer and rancher, for sixty years. He was always active in his community, enjoying the local sporting events. Dale loved to curl and continued to watch curling through his years. He loved to dance and excelled at it. The joy he felt while dancing with his wife was matched by the pleasure others felt, watching them glide around the dance floor. Dale stepped into the role of husband, stepfather and grandfather in mid-life; our family is forever grateful he chose to be part of our lives. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by the family and friends he leaves behind. Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-seven years, Gladys Bye; his stepdaughters, Darlene, Debra, Brenda and Lila, and their husbands, and his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Lily Bye and his brothers, Leroy, Marshall and Francis. A Private Graveside Service will be held at the Dixonville Central Grove Cemetery, Dixonville, Alberta, at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Dale’s honor may be made directly to the STARS Air Ambulance at www.stars.ca. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com. Arrangements in care of Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, 6287 – 67 A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer. 403.340.4040.
