It is with great sadness that the family of the late Flora May Owens Sacrey announce her passing on September 4, 2020 at the Health Science Centre in St. John’s, NL, at the age of 71
May was born on Silver Fox Island on January 11, 1949 to John & Stella Rogers (Deceased).
May leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Ray Sacrey. 2 Children: Cynthia (Richard Paddock), Kevin Owens (Dee). 3 Step Children: Michelle Philpott (Enos Harnum), Dwayne Philpott, Raymond Sacrey (Doreen), Darren Sacrey (Elizabeth). 9 Grandchildren: Richard Jr & Rachael Paddock, Joshua & Sara Philpott, Jonah & Rebecca Sacrey, Micah, Jonathan & Janelle Sacrey. 11 Siblings: Wilson Rogers (Jane), Clyde Rogers (Margaret), Oliver Rogers (Sheila), Wilmore Rogers (Sharon), Jacqueline (Harris Jenkins), Roy Rogers (Jackie), Penny (Graham Coish), Rhonda (Eldred Penney), Hank Rogers (Genevieve), Colleen (Harvey Parsons), Cordell Rogers (Shari), along with a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. May is also predeceased by her first husband of 39 years, Malcolm Owens.
We thank God for allowing our lives to be touched by such a wonderful wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was one of a kind and now is safely home in the arms of Jesus.

Since moving to St. John’s in 2014, Cornerstone Ministry has played a very special role in May and Raymond’s life. For the past 6 years they have served their inner city by volunteering regularly at the Friday night Coffee House, Saturday Supper Bowl and on Sundays where May and Raymond greeted all those who came. May will certainly be missed by her church family at Cornerstone.
Friends and family may visit at Stacey’s Funeral Home in Gander on Tuesday from 1-5 p.m. Due to COVID19 restrictions, friends are kindly asked to limit their visit to 10 minute intervals.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 at 2PM from Evangel Pentecostal Church in Gander with Pastor Gary Andrews officiating. A pre-registration will be required for the service with a limit of 100 people. A live stream of the service will also be made available. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery in Gander.
