Francesco Moceri 2020

On Thursday, Sept. 3, our family lost a Gentle, Loving, Caring and Wonderful man in Francesco (Frank) Moceri. Born on Aug. 10, 1957 in Windsor, Ont., Frank was 63. Frank has left a permanent mark etched on our hearts and will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend of 41 years Kathryn (nee Adams), and his children Nina and Tony DaFre, Teresa and Paul Pare, and Rocco Richard and Jennifer Moceri. Proud and cherished Nonno of Mia, Tia, Bruno, Gabriella, Remi, Luciano, Francesco, and Elliana. Deeply missed by brother Vince and sister-in-law Margaret, and sister-in-law Marylena. Cherished uncle of Vita, Nina, Rocco John, Olivia, Peter, Nina, Giuliana, Madelina, and Isabella. Reunited with his loving parents Rocco Moceri (2010) and Antonina (2015), in-laws Stanley (1988) and Teresa Adams (2018), brother John (2013), sister Virginia (2016), and granddaughter Madeline (2013). Loved and missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Frank was well known in the Windsor community with the family-owned business Windsor Disposal Services (WDS) and retired as the former CEO. He was currently employed at St. Clair College as Industry Liaison.
Frank worked tirelessly for the community he loved, raising money for charities such as In Honour of the Ones We Love, Respite Services of Windsor, and Windsor Regional Hospital Palliative Care. He was instrumental in raising $5 million for the development of the LaSalle Vollmer Complex and received countless awards for his exemplary record of service to his community, including Italian of the Year and Canadian Italian Business of the Year. Frank was an inspiration to the business community. Along with his exceptional work history, Frank served on several boards and was well known and respected both in his personal and professional life. Frank was a proud board member of the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association, Giovanni Caboto Club, and Motor City Credit Union.
Our family wishes to thank the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit for allowing Frank to be on an experimental drug that saved his life for the last 22 years. We would like to thank the endless time and care of many medical professionals, including Dr. Shamisa, Dr. Hamm, Dr. Woldie, Dr. Gupta and Registered Nurse Debbie. We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Oncology 4 West team, CCOT and ICU staff at Windsor Regional Hospital for their support throughout this challenging time. Frank lit up every room he walked in to. He loved everyone and everyone loved him. He had a unique way of making everyone feel special and important. He will be mourned by countless friends and respected by so many who did business with him.
A quote to remember from our beloved Frank: “Cherish your yesterdays, dream your tomorrows and live your todays.”
If you so desire, donations to In Honour Of The Ones We Love or Play For A Cure for Frank’s favourite oncologists Dr. C Hamm would be appreciated by the family.
