Eleanor Marie Brooks
1935 ~ 2020
Moncton, NB – Eleanor Marie Brooks, 84, passed away peacefully at the
Moncton City Hospital, on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020.
Born in Sluice Point, Yarmouth County, NS, she was the daughter of the late Henry and the late Antoinette Muise.
Eleanor was very involved in community service. She had a very strong Faith in God and was a member of the Catholic Womens League at St-Augustine Church. She was also an entrepreneur in her own right, selling everything from Tupperware to World Book Encyclopedias. She loved to sing, dance, and play the fiddle.
Eleanor will be sadly missed by two sons, Stephen Brooks (Linda) of Moncton and Peter Brooks (Lynn) of Nanaimo, BC; two daughters, Kim Brooks (Shawn) of Moncton and Angela Brooks of Halifax, NS; six sisters, Phyllis Houston (Sam), Betty Bouchie (Jim), Cécile Thibeau (late Arnold) all three of Yarmouth, NS, Joyce Sisco (Doug) of Tusket, NS, Brenda Surette (Ray) of Nanaimo, BC and Dianne Burke (Steve) of Naples, Florida; two half-sisters, Lorraine Surette (Roy) of Surette’s island and Pauline Hoeg (Terry) of Halifax, NS; six grandchildren, Kevin, Patrick, Victoria, Morgan, Mackenzie and Shannon; several great and great-great grandchildren; also by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Harold (October 20th, 1930 ~ May 3rd, 1982); her brother, Stanley (Betty).
Visitations will be held at Passage Funeral chapel in Moncton (625 Mountain Rd) on Friday, September 11th, 2020, from 9am until 11am. The family will gather privately in the Chapel from 11am until time of the Funeral service at the Chapel at 11:30, followed by the internment at Fair Heaven Cemetery.
Everyone attending the visitation and the Funeral service will be mandated to wear a face mask. Please bring your own.
