Obituary
Brian Douglas Burnell passed away on Thursday, August 27th, 2020 at Glenmore Lodge at the age of 79.
Brian was predeceased by his wife Helen of 50 years, parents, Edward and Elsie Burnell, brothers – Albert and (Laurene) Burnell, Jack (Nellie) Burnell, and Ken (Marge) Burnell and Vern (Verna) Burnell; sister Marge (Ed) Schneider; three nephews, Kent Schellenberg, Steven Burnell and Kent Lauinger and son-in-law Jack Ireland.
Brian is survived by his two sisters, Ruth and Beth, daughters, Cathy (Bruce) Gunderson and Marie Ireland. He is also survived by three sister-in-law’s – Madeleine Burnell, Diana Loiselle, and Margaret Mackie; and two brother-in-law’s – Tom and Russ Mackie.
Brian has four grandchildren, Lorna (Rudolf) Erasmus, Douglas (Christina) Ireland, and Brian and Allen Gunderson; and five great grandchildren, Kayla, Nicholas, Dezirae, Sienna, and Payten; and one great great grandchild Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Brian will always be remembered for his infectious smile; and strength and courage fighting through his MS for over 60 years. He will be affectionately remembered by all of his family and friends.
A big thank you goes out to the staff at Glenmore Lodge. Brian made some great friends there and was lovingly looked after by the staff.
Dad will be laid to rest at Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
