George Edward Mason McKnight
Passed away after a short illness at the age of 75 on August 27th, 2020. Loving father to Joy
(Tim) Olding and Lesley (Brendan) Lorimer. Proud granddad to Joelle, Caleb, Liam, Erin,
Éamon and Otis. Predeceased by his sister June and his brother Bill. Survived by brothers
Leonard (Gloria), Rick (Evelyn), Glenn (Joan), and his former wife, Janice. Wonderful friend to
Bob (Adell) Pearson, Ray (Rachael) Souch, Lorna Jean Astle, the people of Kingston Alliance
Church and many more. As a devout Christian, he was comforted by the belief that he would
“walk again someday in the presence of the Lord”. George was an avid reader and a life-long
lover of public libraries. His daughters ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to support
public libraries in his memory. They also want to give their sincere thanks to the staff at
Kingston General Hospital, especially the Nephrology department, the Vascular team, the
Spiritual Care department and the doctors, nurses and PCAs in the ICU and Connell 9 unit.
